FAQ
Common questions
Answers to what people ask most before they start.
How do I get started?
Send a text to (541) 326-1696 with your name, your scheduling limits, and whether you'll pay privately or use insurance (with your plan's name). You can also email. I reply by text or email rather than returning phone calls.
What if my partner doesn't want to come?
Either or both of you can start change. You can begin with individual counseling focused on your relationship, and your partner can join later.
Do you take insurance?
I'm a provider for PacificSource, Moda and Jackson Care Connect, and some other plans may work too. Insurance requires a medical diagnosis that goes into your medical record, and many plans don't cover couples work, so couples counseling for communication and conflict is private pay.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I offer secure telehealth sessions anywhere in Oregon, as well as in-person counseling in Medford.
We live far from Medford. Can we still work with you?
Yes. Couples from Bend, Klamath Falls, Eugene, Portland, Brookings, Coos Bay and other Oregon cities can book an intensive: closely spaced sessions, up to 20 hours, focused on one issue.
How many sessions will we need?
After the initial consultation, I recommend at least four more sessions. Couples dealing with trauma, depression, significant anxiety or repeated infidelity may need extended sessions, which we decide together at the first appointment.
Do you offer faith-based counseling?
Yes, for Christian couples who want it. You decide how faith is discussed, and that choice is respected.
